Water Softeners are designed to filter iron, hardness, maganese, radium,and in some cases lead. The process is known as ion exchange. Iron, calcium and maganese carry a positive charge and these minerals cling to the cation resin ( polystrene beads ) inside the filter tank as the water passes through the mineral tank. Then, a brine solution ( salt) is backwashed through the system to remove the iron, calcium and maganese minerals. The system is then ready for it's next filtration cycle.
Water softeners have control heads that automatically run this process. They are either time clock units or metered units.
Most importantly, each system needs to be sized correctly by having the raw water tested by a professional.
Softeners are available in different sizes and shapes depending on iron and hardness levels, water usage, size of homes ( #' of baths, kitchens etc.) and use of outside irrigation systems.

Iron filters can be used in low iron level situations where one might not want to deal with a salt system. They can also assist in a heavy iron area in conjunction with a Water softener. Chemical Feed Systems consists of an Electronic Feed pump, Electronic Meter, 1" inline mixing chamber, either a 35 gallon solution tank or a 15 gallon solution tank for chemicals( Your choice ). Chemical feed Systems are designed to help regulate Ph levels ( with sodium Hydroxide or soda Ash ) in water and help eliminate odors.

How it works : The amount of water being used is accurately measured by the meter. An internal reed switch sends a signal to the pulsatron pump as every 1/10th gallon of water is being used. This allows our system to be extremely accurate by injecting a controlled amount of chemical under high pressure into a turbulent water stream. This turbulence is created by the last component of our system; the inline mixing chamber. This chamber is a multi-stage mixing chamber that blends the chemical with the water as it flows through your piping system.
